A Cheer For Them

A cheer for the one who taught me to dance,
and patiently watched me fall, or fail.
The one who taught me to try again,
for falling means nothing to determination.
To her, and him, who brought my smiles,
as I moved to the music.
A cheer for the one who taught me to dance,
I'll never stop dancing.

A cheer for the one who taught me to sing,
and endured from on nasty note to the next.
The one who taught me to feel the music,
for music is emotion made audible.
To him, who showed me my soul,
through songs of the heart.
A cheer for the one who taught me to sing,
I'll never stop singing.

A cheer for the one who taught me true friendship,
and witnessed true sadness in my eyes.
The one who taught me to trust in myself,
for no trial may defeat my strength with her by my side.
To her, who brought me truth and comfort,
as we shared a large fries.
A cheer for the one who taught me true friendship,
I'll never forget.

A cheer for the one who taught me to love,
and saw my heart break into pieces.
The one who taught me to hold on the all that I love,
for love enriches the soul with happiness.
To her, who brought her embrace,
as our soft lips touched.
A cheer for the one who taught me to love,
I'll never stop loving.

The Empty Page

The empty page sits before me
full of nothingness, just blank.
I sit and stare
my eyes as blank as the lines.
Yet, in my mind the busy thoughts
rush to and fro without a rest.
I have the pen, yet I cannot move
for I fear I'll write something wrong.
Other hands with other pens
try to nudge towards the page.
Their force is strong and pushes hard
but I somehow push away.
I find some strength, some courage,
and raise my pen in hand,
and write one sentence
that breaks the empty page

"I choose what happens next"
